8 Fashion Winter Trends You Should Try

It can be tricky sometimes to follow fashion trends because they can be too bold for us or simply not our style. The good news is that you can incorporate subtle elements that will make you trendy yet comfortable in your own style. You don’t have to abide by fashion trends you see on runaways; make them your own and add your unique touch to them. It’s possible to be in vogue while keeping your everyday style. Experimenting with fashion trends and having fun with them will make your day-to-day more exciting. I have compiled for you 8 fashion trends for winter 2024 that you can integrate into your style.

One of the things that stood out for the 2024 collections is that they were devoted to everyday wear with a chic approach and a twist to classic fashion staples like the little black dress.

1. Icy Metallics

Icy blue stood out as 2024’s top color trend and different variations of this color were seen in Tom Ford, Versace, and Bottega Venta fashion shows. After the Barbie fever we had this past couple of months, it is a refreshing change to adopt a different color for fashion wear. You can test the trend by wearing an icy blue sweater, a frosty blue bag/ accessories, or an arctic blue dress with a white turtleneck underneath. Be creative and playful with this fad since this color is very easy to wear and style.

2. Preppy for the Winter

Preppy layers with a twist were seen in Miu Miu, Moschino, and Loewe runaways. Classic preppy was taken to another level by blending masculine and feminine vibes, angular and rounded, hard and soft. The trend also emphasizes layering with cardigans, oversized blazers, button-downs, sweaters, and plaid skirts. Try experimenting by layering button-downs with a sweater or a cardigan and playing with textures and lengths for a modern look.

3. Low Rise Come Back

The 90’s trends are slowing but surely coming back and will continue into 2024. Styles like low-rise jeans, cargo pants, and maxi skirts are resurging. I’m really excited about this trend because I love low-rise jeans and maxi skirts, they are so comfy and easy to style. You can wear a maxi skirt with an oversized sweater or pair a low-rise jeans with a long-sleeve top and a bulky cardigan for a more practical and stylish look.

4. Fluffy and warm

For this winter faux fur coats are making a statement on big brands’ runways such as Gucci and Stella McCartney. Cozy faux furs with bold prints are making their way to our wardrobe to warm us up and be stylish. Coats are a powerful fashion statement and can make your outfit. Consider snuggling up in a furry trench or fuzzy bombers to be in vogue and look fabulous.

5. Business as usual

Winter 2024 is a big year for business casuals with a slight twist. Designers have added their unique signature to business casual and made things more interesting. Modern tailoring, sharp collars, sheer trench coats, and twisted shirts were seen in Prada, Balenciaga, and Peter Do. If you work in person it is an opportunity to spice things up and have fun with your business attire! You can include trompe l’oeil prints and try out twisted shirts, or elongated collars. Who said you can’t be modish at your workplace?

6. New Huggy Bag

When it comes to accessories, oversized bag is the star. Combining functionality and aesthetics, huggy bags are your best friend for winter 2024. Oversized bags were spotted in Jil Sander’s, Bottega, Victoria Beckham, and many other brands. You can easily snuggle your huggy bag underneath the arm or carry it over your shoulder. These bags come in different styles, shapes, and colors so you can choose the one that speaks to you. The best part? You can take all your necessities and even more without worrying about space.

7. In ties

As I mentioned previously twisted is going to be a big theme for Winter 2024, whether it’s twisted shirts, twisted knits, or tied knits it’s there. The trend started last year as a hack and grew bigger with different designers adding knotted pieces to their fashion shows. Choose a nice knit piece to tie over your waist, bust, or shoulder. Another alternative is to go for garments with built-in knots and ride this fashion wave.

8. Iconic Black Dress with A Twist

We can all agree that the little black dress is a timeless fashion statement. For this season designers decided to re-visit the iconic black dress and add a twist to it. Unusual necklines, graphic off-the-shoulder, extravagant silhouettes, different textures and proportions — you name it. If you want to go for an edgier and more modern look, this fad is definitely for you.
